UPDATED 5/7/2014: Bad news! I’m sorry to say that the Dead Boss pilot did not get picked up.
The Hollywood Reporter just posted some exciting news… Amy Sedaris has signed on to co-star in Dead Boss, a new pilot starring Jane Krakowski for Fox!
Dead Boss is a comedic mystery that finds overachiever Helen Stephens (Krakowski) wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss and forced to rely on her train wreck of a sister to prove her innocence.
Sedaris will play Mary, one of Helen’s nosy, fault-finding co-workers and the gatekeeper to their boss. She secretly loves the man and openly hates Helen.
Keep in mind, however, that this is a pilot… which means that it may or may not get picked up for a full season this fall. Of course, I’ll post anything I find out here, and fingers crossed, we’ll be seeing Amy on TV this fall!
Calling all Amy fans in Austin, TX! The Paramount Theatre will present an Evening with Amy Sedaris on Friday, March 28, 8:00 pm. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow, March 6, at 10 am. From the Paramount website:

Amy Sedaris will guest star on Lil BUB’s Special Special this Saturday (February 8) night at 9 pm ET on Animal Planet! DVR booked up for that time slot? According to TVGuide, it will air again at 11 pm. The basic premise is Lil BUB’s owner goes out for the night, and Amy has her hands full babysitting the little cat, along with her sleepover friends–which include a pony, a guinea pig and, of course, a rabbit. Watch some hilarious–and super cute–outtakes!
Amy will guest star in a new upcoming special on Animal Planet, Lil BUB’s Special Special! The show premieres Saturday, February 8, 9-30 pm ET/PT.
Here’s more about the special from Animal Planet: “Lil BUB’s owner, Mike, is heading out on the town for the night, but Lil BUB has plans to watch Andrew W.K.’s new clip show at a slumber party with her wild assortment of friends. And, as the saying goes, when Lil BUB’s dude is away, the cat will play! So, Mike enlists a special ‘bubbysitter,’ Amy Sedaris, to look after the party and make sure things don’t get too catty. Amy is the cat’s meow when it comes to bubbysitting, playing charades with the gang and ordering a pizza with outlandish toppings that is sure to please all. But, no matter how cool of a cat Amy is, she can’t stop Lil BUB and her friends from partaking in prank phone calls, pillow fights and other hijinks. And, to top the night off, Lil BUB unveils a ‘purrfect’ surprise – her special brand of space magic that leaves everyone open jawed with tongues out!”
Well, 2014 is starting off on the right foot… Amy returns to Raising Hope next week (January 10 on FOX)! You might remember that Amy appeared in seasons 1 and 2 of Raising Hope as Virginia’s obnoxious cousin Delilah. You can read more about her return to the series on TV Guide: First Look: Amy Sedaris returns to Raising Hope. In the meantime, you can also revisit her first two guest spots (hilarious) on Netflix streaming. Just look for “What Up, Cuz?” in season 1 and “Henderson, Nevada-Adjacent Baby” in season 2.
Amy Sedaris has signed on to guest star on Broad City, a new series produced by Amy Poehler! I don’t have any other specific details about Amy’s spot yet, but I will of course post them when I find out. Broad City will premiere January 22 on Comedy Central (you can read more about it at Entertainment Weekly).
Netflix keeps getting better! A new animated Netflix original series, BoJack Horseman, will feature the voices of Will Arnett, Amy Sedaris and Aaron Paul. Wired.com describes the series, “Created by comedian and writer Raphael Bob-Waksberg, the 12-episode BoJack Horseman takes its name from Arnett’s character, an alcoholic former television star fallen on hard times who just happens to be a horse, who might have a shot at the big time again — assuming that he doesn’t screw it all up.” Amy will voice BoJack’s feline ex-girlfriend. The first season of BoJack Horseman is slated to premiere mid-2014.
In other news, Amy continues to guest star on Amazon’s new original series, Alpha House. At this point, I think it’s safe to assume that Amy will appear in most, if not all, of the remaining episodes this season. New episodes are added every Friday, and are available to Amazon Prime subscribers.
Amy Sedaris guest stars on Alpha House episode 1×05, ‘Hippo Issues.’
Amy Sedaris made her second guest appearance on this week’s episode of Amazon’s new original series, Alpha House! Prime members can watch it here (episode 5, ‘Hippo Issues’).
Amy Sedaris guest stars as Louise Laffer on the new Amazon original series Alpha House.
Amy Sedaris made her first of multiple special guest appearances on this week’s episode of Amazon’s new original series, Alpha House! The series, which stars John Goodman, revolves around four senators who work–and live–together in Washington, DC. Amy plays the role of Louise Laffer, wife of Senator Louis Laffer. Epiodes will be added on a weekly basis, and are currently only available to Amazon Prime subscribers. Today’s episode is #4 (out of ten total in the first season), and when asked how many episodes of Alpha House she did, Amy thought she might be in five or six. So, hopefully we’ll be seeing more of Amy in the majority of forthcoming episodes!
Amy and rabbit expert Mary Cotter have created a series of 49 super informative–and of course, super adorable–Howcast video guides on taking care of a rabbit. Anyone who has a rabbit, or is thinking of getting one, needs to hop (ha…) on over and watch these, as there’s a lot more to having a pet rabbit than most people realize. If you’re new to Amy and thinking that this is an odd thing to do, nope! Amy has had her mini-rex rabbit, Dusty, for nearly 11 years (and another bunny before that), and she’s an advocate for rabbit adoption and care, being an honorary rabbit educator for the House Rabbit Society. Anyway, check out the guides! Learn how to take care of a pet rabbit with bunny lover Amy Sedaris and rabbit expert Mary Cotter >>
*Ed. note–and shameless plug 🙂–Amy used two of my recipes for homemade rabbit treats in her books, I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence and Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People, but you can find them both online. Amy’s bunny has always gone nuts for these (mine, too)! The holidays are just around the corner. If you like to bake, these would make a great treat for any rabbit or rabbit owner: Elliot’s Cilantro Treats (scroll down) and Katie’s Smack Snacks for Rabbits
