You’ll be able to catch Amy on the big screen next month in Jon Favreau’s new food truck film, Chef! In the upcoming indie flick about a restaurant owner who loses his job and starts a food truck, Amy joins fellow cast members Scarlet Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Dustin Hoffman, among others. Chef releases nationwide on May 9 (though this is an indie, so I’m honestly not sure that it will be playing everywhere). Check out the video below in which Amy talks about her part in the film (she plays a publicist, and everything on her is fake), working with Favreau and Leguizamo, and doing cameo parts in movies.
I asked Amy about her role in Jon Favreau’s coming film Chef: “I play a agent/publicist. I got to tape my eyes up, get a fake tan and I wore fake nails. It was a blast!”
You can also check out some photos from the set on Zimbio.
A chef who loses his restaurant job starts up a food truck in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, while piecing back together his estranged family.
Also, Amy will be returning to television very soon! As in, a regular cast member of a series! Adult Swim posted a video from the Heart, She Holler panel at San Diego Comic-Con a couple weeks ago, and it’s mentioned that season 2 of the show will premiere on September 10 and run for 14 episodes! Episodes will air on consecutive nights, like a soap opera (as opposed to the typical once per week)–perfect, since the show is something of a soap opera. Amy is taking over the role of Hurshe Heartshe (played by Kristen Schaal in season one), a sleazy white trash woman who is constantly plotting to take over the town. Looks like a part that’s going to be perfect for Amy!
Director/writer Jon Favreau announced via a Vine video that Amy Sedaris has joined the cast of his new indie film, Chef, about a restaurant chef who loses his job and starts a food truck. Amy will join fellow cast members Scarlet Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Dustin Hoffman, among others. Open Road Films has already acquired the rights to Chef and will release it nationwide Mother’s Day weekend (May 9), 2014. No word yet on what Amy’s role entails, but stay tuned!
