Sorry it’s been SO long since I’ve posted anything! Just wanted to pop in and mention that Amy Sedaris will be on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night–Friday, February 20. I assume she’ll probably be on to promote David Cross’ new film, HITS, in which she has a small part. Good times!

You can catch Amy Sedaris on the big screen in May in Chef, and then again in June in Ping Pong Summer!
Set in 1985 in Ocean City, MD, Ping Pong Summer is a coming-of-age story about a shy 13 year-old white boy who’s obsessed with ping pong and hip-hop. While on a family vacation in Ocean City, he finds an unexpected mentor in their next-door neighbor (played by Susan Sarandon).
Amy plays the shy teen’s aunt. I actually visited the set on the day that Amy was in Ocean City to film her scenes, and she’s hilarious in it. It looks like it’s going to be a really fun flick for the summertime! (By the way, you can click on the photo to view it larger.)
Ping Pong Summer premiered at Sundance to glowing reviews, and will open in select theaters and on VOD on June 6. You’ll also be able to catch it on DVD and Blu-Ray in early August. To find out more, check out the film’s official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and watch the trailer below (yep, Amy is in it!).
You’ll be able to catch Amy on the big screen next month in Jon Favreau’s new food truck film, Chef! In the upcoming indie flick about a restaurant owner who loses his job and starts a food truck, Amy joins fellow cast members Scarlet Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Dustin Hoffman, among others. Chef releases nationwide on May 9 (though this is an indie, so I’m honestly not sure that it will be playing everywhere). Check out the video below in which Amy talks about her part in the film (she plays a publicist, and everything on her is fake), working with Favreau and Leguizamo, and doing cameo parts in movies.
I asked Amy about her role in Jon Favreau’s coming film Chef: “I play a agent/publicist. I got to tape my eyes up, get a fake tan and I wore fake nails. It was a blast!”
You can also check out some photos from the set on Zimbio.
Jon Favreau has posted another Vine video from the set of his new indie flick, Chef, currently filming in Los Angeles. A bit more about the movie synopsis from IMDB:
A chef who loses his restaurant job starts up a food truck in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, while piecing back together his estranged family.
Also, Amy will be returning to television very soon! As in, a regular cast member of a series! Adult Swim posted a video from the Heart, She Holler panel at San Diego Comic-Con a couple weeks ago, and it’s mentioned that season 2 of the show will premiere on September 10 and run for 14 episodes! Episodes will air on consecutive nights, like a soap opera (as opposed to the typical once per week)–perfect, since the show is something of a soap opera. Amy is taking over the role of Hurshe Heartshe (played by Kristen Schaal in season one), a sleazy white trash woman who is constantly plotting to take over the town. Looks like a part that’s going to be perfect for Amy!
Director/writer Jon Favreau announced via a Vine video that Amy Sedaris has joined the cast of his new indie film, Chef, about a restaurant chef who loses his job and starts a food truck. Amy will join fellow cast members Scarlet Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Sofia Vergara, John Leguizamo and Dustin Hoffman, among others. Open Road Films has already acquired the rights to Chef and will release it nationwide Mother’s Day weekend (May 9), 2014. No word yet on what Amy’s role entails, but stay tuned!
Amy is scheduled to appear on The Today Show and Letterman next Wednesday, November 2! She’ll be on to promote the new Shrek sequel, Puss in Boots, in which she does the voice of Jill (of Jack and Jill; Billy Bob Thornton voices Jack).
Here’s an interview from the set of the new indie comedy The Best and the Brightest in which Amy talks about her character, Sue Lemon, and working with Neil Patrick Harris.
An official trailer for Amy’s new movie, The Best and the Brightest, has been released!
The Best and the Brightest, a new indie ensemble comedy, will be screening at the Sunshine Theater on Houston Street, NYC, on Thursday, April 7, at 7:00 and 9:30 pm. Amy will be on hand to host a Q&A after the 7:00 show! For more information/tickets, check out the movie website.
